I think is the problem is a driver conflict. Try checking the database logs and see if what happens.
SystemAdmin: Absolutely agree — I had the same issue and got it working by recreating the automation. Took me forever to find that setting.

Does anyone else see delays with automations? It's worse when there's heavy traffic.
